I love Portland and the Oregon coast so why not run from one to another? The upside is that I would be part of a team and the mileage can be an easy 7mi split into two parts. The downside is I would need to find a team. I doubt I can convince many of my friends or grab a big enough group from the Pacers to form one. Despite these challenges I will keep tabs on this race and I vow to run it!
Could be two years from now or 10. It doesn’t matter. I. Will. Run. It!
A rockin’ mix of running and live entertainment will ROCK the Vegas Strip once again at the Zappos.com Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & 1/2 Marathon.
Any race that shuts down a part of a major city is definitely a draw for me. Being able to run through the strip would be amazing. It could also be my first night race. Also gives me another excuse to visit Vegas!
This one I am hoping will be my holiday 2013 race. The race price is pretty high, lowest is $115, but I can offset it by staying at a hotel like Harrah’s Casino or South Point. *UPDATE* Booked for 2013! Race is November 17th!
I’ve never been to Catalina and what a better way to see the island than to run to the top and have a look around? It appears to be a grueling course but I would also get to see bison! Maybe I should also start up another list of places to run… I did, after all, start up a Bridge List. Perhaps other islands? Or geographical features list?
Maybe 2015. The cost of the race itself isn’t too bad but the hotel and ferry to Catalina would add up to a ~$400-600. A very steep price to pay for a race. It is also around the same time as other destination races I want to do. This one might stay in my Bucket Race list for a few years.
I know that must sound like a boring list to you but it is a goal for me. When I pick city runs I want to have a scenic route. Either through historic districts or, in this case, over an awesome bridge. In 2013, I should be able to knock off Portland, Pasadena, and San Francisco as well!
It is always on Labor day so being available for the race should be no problem. Driving all the way down there during the busiest travel day of the year, well that’s the reason this race isn’t in the “Where I’m Going” category. I’m hoping this will be my “FUCK YOU SUMMER!” Race in 2013.
I’ve only driven through the area and from the pictures of the course it seems like it will be an amazing experience. Like the Bellingham race, this one will go through a small town, has a brewery and a path along the water. If it only had a bridge to cross, it would be perfect!
It is held during November of each year and would be easy to add to calendar. I would just need to convince Meghann to join me. This is one of those races where I want to enjoy the town a few days before the race.
My main draw to this race is being able to visit Meghann’s family. I loved the few days we spent this wonderful small town and course runs through all of the beautiful parts of the downtown and waterfront. Definitely would stop by Boundary Bay Brewery for a celebratory pint!
Therein lies the problem. The race is held during September and it would be difficult for Meghann to get away from school during the first month.
